Alexandra Shinn – My Story
Alex is the Lead Recruiter at Griffin Resources and is a trusted advisor for all aspects of Talent Acquisition. She understands the value of developing meaningful partnerships with her clients and enjoys working with client teams to improve processes and practices, strengthen internal recruitment, and help businesses grow and attract top talent.
Alex was born and raised in the Tampa Bay area where she began her career in human resources and corporate recruiting. She received her bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in Literary Studies from the University of South Florida in Tampa.
Prior to Griffin Resources, Alex built her career as a corporate recruiter performing full-cycle recruitment for companies in the software and healthcare IT industries. She brought with her many years of expertise in relationship building, recruitment strategy, sourcing, screening and interviewing, candidate and requisition management, candidate experience, offer negotiation, new hire on-boarding, and additional HR-related subjects.
Outside of work, Alex can be found in the saddle or at the racetrack. She has a life-long passion for horses and enjoys riding in her free time. She also loves all things motorsports. When she is not attending professional races or motorsports events, she is traveling the Southeast racing her own off-road RC cars.

Hobbies
Alex started racing RC cars at the beginning of 2020 and has attended a variety of local and regional races throughout Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. She actively races 1/8 scale ebuggy and 1/10 scale stadium truck, and has even taken up airbrushing to paint her own RC bodies.
Horses
Alex has a life-long passion for horses and enjoys riding hunter/jumpers in her free time. She started riding when she was 5 years old and competed on the USF Equestrian Team in college.
